ERB Hemp Strain Review

ERB or Early Resin Berry hemp is quite an interesting strain, mainly because it’s such a mystery. It’s available in a select few shops, and I was lucky enough to get my hands on a few grams of it.

Make no mistake, ERB hemp is super rare and hard to come by. Moreover, the genetics and lineage of Early Resin Berry are shrouded in mystery as well. Luckily, I got to try a fat blunt of ERB hemp myself, so I can tell you how it’ will make you feel.

Key Takeaways

  •  ERB hemp is a well-balanced hybrid, a descendant of unknown origins.
  • The ERB strain contains up to 15% CBD, with negligible amounts of THC.
  • This strain has great potential to help relieve some stress, symptoms related to anxiety, and pain and inflammation.

What Is the ERB Hemp Strain?

The ERB strain contains a lot of CBD, but hardly any THC. In most cases, these buds have a THC-to-CBD ratio of roughly 20:1. Based on this, it doesn’t make you high, as there isn’t enough THC to produce notable psychoactive effects.

I certainly didn’t feel intoxicated, even after a full 2-gram blunt. Of course, the point of high-CBD hemp strains like this is not to get high, but rather to enjoy CBD’s soothing nature of CBD for the mind and body.

ERB Hemp Strain Appearance

ERB buds are large, almost oversized, and quite fluffy. They aren’t compact and dense like some others. As for colors, the buds I got were very light green with a few darker accents, along with a few purple hues in the form of sugar hairs, a few orange pistils, and a fine dusting of snowy trichomes packed to the brim with CBD.

ERB Hemp Strain Genetics

As mentioned above, the ERB hemp strain is quite a mystery. Be that as it may, it is an evenly balanced hybrid — about 50% indica and 50% sativa.

ERB Hemp Strain Lineage

It is thought that the ERB hemp strain is an indirect descendant of an OG Kush hybrid — a highly potent strain with high THC levels. Oregon CBD is, at this time, the only breeder that has ERB seeds available for sale, and they are extremely secretive as to what went into creating this genetic lineup.

ERB Hemp Strain THC/CBD Content

ERB hemp can contain up to 15% CBD, which is no small number, along with well under 1% THC. There may be alternatives that contain higher levels of THC, but for today’s article, I am referring to the pure hemp version of ERB that is loaded with CBD, but void of virtually any THC.

I enjoy this strain because smoking ganja doesn’t always need to be about getting high. In case you didn’t know, CBD has some great therapeutic potential, as it may relieve symptoms associated with stress and anxiety, put you in a better mood, help you sleep better, and even relieve some pain and inflammation.

Pain and inflammation reduction appears to be the biggest benefits I reaped from Early Resin Berry. But this is my experience, try out this strain and tell us yours!

ERB Hemp Strain Terpenes

Although information on this strain is quite limited, I have it on good authority that the main terpenes in ERB are myrcene, caryophyllene, and limonene. I’ll discuss exactly what this means in terms of this strain’s effects and flavors below.

ERB Hemp Strain Effects

First, remember that this strain does not contain notable levels of THC, so it should not get you high, make you feel impaired, or intoxicate you in any way. It’s quite the opposite in fact.

From my experience with it, ERB makes me feel quite clear-headed, alert, and euphoric, especially at first. It seemed to put me in a peppy and upbeat mood. It’s not the same as the extreme euphoria and floaty mental state that THC produces, but a much mellow and reserved feeling.

I felt all of the mood regulation potential of CBD, as I didn’t feel quite as anxious or stressed out as I usually do. It just made me feel calm, relaxed, and happy, all without impairing my judgment or coordination, which is something I appreciate when I have a long day ahead.

These benefits can be partially linked to the terpenes I mentioned earlier; i.e., myrcene, caryophyllene, and limonene. Myrcene helps to relax the muscles and is slightly sedating, which might explain why ERB made me sleep so well. It also has caryophyllene, which is known for its pain-relieving potential. Finally, there’s limonene, an anti-inflammatory with the potential to relieve inflammation and pain.

ERB Hemp Strain Reported Flavors

As the name suggests, Early Resin Berry has a very sweet, fruity, and berry-like flavor. I couldn’t quite decide whether it was blackberries or blueberries that ERB reminded me of, but it’s reminiscent of fresh and sweet berries.

Thanks to the limonene content, the ERB hemp strain also has a distinctly citrusy undertone that becomes evident on the exhale. As far as I’m concerned, it’s pretty rare to find a hemp strain that tastes this good!

ERB Hemp Strain Growing Information

Although growing this strain is not overly difficult, finding the seeds is. The breeders, Oregon CBD, don’t produce that many seeds, and they’re not widespread either. It’s also hard to find the strain itself in a dispensary. ERB hemp should start to flower sometime in July and be ready for harvest sometime in mid-September.

Strains Like the ERB Hemp Strain

If you’re looking for other hemp strains that might suit your fancy, I recommend checking out Strawberry Banana Kush CBD or Sugar Queen CBD. As you can tell by their names, they’re both delectably sweet and packed full of CBD.

You could also try Special Sauce which has a sweet and earthy aroma that matches its berry flavor inherited from ERB. Suver Haze is another one — a sativa-dominant strain with sweet fruit and citrus flavors, perfect to pair with a cup of coffee.

Also, Hawaiian Haze has a distinctive pineapple flavor that makes you feel happy with its sativa properties and 19.7% CBD content. If you love the effects of ERB, make sure to try out our strains and enjoy the experience.
