If you like sweet, fruity, and citrusy strains, then this Sour Pineapple strain might be right for you. Even if going on a tropical vacation isn’t in the books for you right now, this Sour Pineapple strain could provide you with just a little bit of paradise, even if just for a few hours.

This Sativa-dominant strain will have you feeling energetic, happy, euphoric, giggly, and more. Even if your body can’t get away to a warm and sunny beach, at least your mind can.

If you need to give your mind and body a little break from the harsh reality that is life, slipping into a Sour Pineapple-induced high might be a great course of action for you. Let’s find out whether or not the Sour Pineapple strain is a good vacation destination for you.

What is the Sour Pineapple Strain?

The Sour Pineapple strain is a fairly low potency or low THC Sativa-dominant strain, which should be more than ideal for daytime use, and because it is a relatively low-potency Sativa, it makes for a great smoke all throughout the day.

It should make you feel very happy and uplifted, all without putting you to sleep. On that note, because it’s not too potent, it’s also ideal for beginners who don’t have a high THC tolerance yet. It has a very tropical and fruity taste, and most people really like it.

Sour Pineapple Strain Appearance

Depending on the exact plant in question, buds from the Sour Pineapple strain can take on different appearances. Generally speaking, the buds are fairly large, yet also quite dense. They tend to weigh quite a bit compared to their size.

Furthermore, they have no distinguishable or regular shape. They are generally irregularly shaped, often like little spades, although this can differ.

As for the color, these buds are quite multicolored. They often contain a variety of shades of green ranging from very light to very dark green, combined with a lot of purple sugar hairs, orange pistils, and a good layer of those white crystals we all love to see.

That said, this strain doesn’t have a whole lot of crystals or trichomes, which is likely because it doesn’t have all that much THC.

Sour Pineapple Strain Genetics

The Sour Pineapple strain is Sativa dominant, and this is because it is made out of other very popular Sativa dominant strains. Let’s take a quick look.

Lineage

The Sour Pineapple strain is a cross between Sour Diesel and Pineapple Kush. First, we have Sour Diesel, which is generally considered to be a cross between Chemdawg and Super Skunk.

We then have Pineapple Kush, which is a cross between Pineapple and Master Kush strains.

The result here is Sour Pineapple, which is about 70% Sativa and 30% Indica. As you can guess, it produces quite a strong cerebral high, which we will take a closer look at further below.

THC/CBD Content

What many people love about the Sour Pineapple strain is that it generally is not overly potent. It almost never contains over 20% THC, with many specimens coming in at somewhere between 13% and 15% THC. This should make it more than ideal for beginners.

Even 15% THC is not overly potent when compared to other strains that sometimes can contain up to 30% THC or even more. A few big hits should be more than enough for any beginner to be transported to the tropical destination of their choice.

Although seasoned smokers may require a few more hits, they should still get there either way. Remember that this strain also contains around 1% CBG, which is a potentially beneficial cannabinoid in terms of sleep, anxiety, and more.

Sour Pineapple Strain Terpenes

Some of the most dominant terpenes contained in the Sour Pineapple strain include pinene, myrcene, ocimene, humulene, limonene, and linalool. As you can probably guess, this produces quite a complex flavor profile, which we will take a closer look at further below.

Sour Pineapple Strain Effects

People really tend to like the Sour Pineapple strain for its effects. As mentioned above, this is a Sativa-dominant strain with a relatively low THC level. For this reason, many beginners like it, because it’s not likely to induce paranoia or anxiety. It’s not overly strong, yet it does hit the head fairly hard nonetheless.

You should feel quite a strong yet enjoyable cerebral high, characterized by feeling euphoric, elated, happy, talkative, giggly, energetic, and in some cases even focused and concentrated. You may also feel a slight body high characterized by tingling of limbs, heaviness, and general bodily relaxation.

That said, because this is a Sativa strain that is not overly potent, it shouldn’t sedate you too much or end up putting you to sleep. It’s definitely a fairly good daytime strain. It’s also seen as a good option for treating pain and related conditions.

Sour Pineapple Strain Reported Flavors

The Sour Pineapple strain has a very complex and interesting flavor profile. At first, you will taste that tropical fruitiness, almost like real pineapples. You’ll also taste sweetness and citrus. However, you’ll then also taste a whole lot of skunkiness, diesel, and fuel. This is one of the most pungent and strongest-smelling Sativa strains out there.

Sour Pineapple Strain Growing Info

If you plan on growing the Sour Pineapple strain for yourself, remember that the flowering time is between 49 and 62 days. If you grow the plant indoors, you can expect about an ounce per square foot as your yield.

Also, these plants can grow up to 90 inches high, so you will need some room. They are not the hardest plants in the world to grow, but they do require fairly constant temperature, humidity, and lighting.
